“Less is more”: it is a concept often promoted as a precious key to improve the quality of life, and at the same time is often very difficult to be applied in the daily routine when the abundance of inputs – on the professional, personal, educational level … – can be oppressive.

We turn to the left, leaving the grey asphalt road that cuts in two side the savannah for the uneven dirt one where the red light spoil flies in the air after the passage of the jeep’s wheels: one second that seems a time jump, leads us in a new dimension. The gaze sweeps with no boundaries to chase colours and new spaces, and looking at the landscapes becomes a kind of meditative moment of connection with the surrounding nature.
I met him the first time in Lipari, in the Aeolian Islands, a bunch of volcanic islands in the Mediterranean Sea, to the north east of Sicily. He already visited and lived in different islands at that time and among all of them the Aeolian archipelago was the one driving the strongest attraction and becoming a second home for long time.
The one with Sextantio in Santo Stefano in Sessanio has been love at first sight. A small fortified perfectly preserved medieval “borgo”, the majesty and the beauty of the nature of the Gran Sasso Natural Park, the finest conservative renovation of the houses of common people, supported by attentive anthropologic studies to build as truly as possible the life of old times.
